RARE Kokeshi Dolls Set by Muhitsu Miyajima "The light of a village" and Japanese Traditional Vintage Handcraft
This lovely kokeshi with a black body was created by the prime minister award winner "Muhitsu Miyajima".
Because of his extraordinary craftsmanship, he won so many competitions in Japan.
His works are always valued quite high, so it is not easy to get his great works even in the secondhand market.
This kokeshi is named "Sato no akari" which means "The light of a village" in Japanese.
I assume the artist thought this boy can be the hope for the village.
Sadly we couldn't identify the name of the artist of the other one.
But as you can see in the picture, it has a stamp with the name of the artist.
Hope you will like this cute kokeshi dolls set.
*Please check the photos carefully before purchasing.
The bamboo grove paint on the body remains relatively vivid, but the face shows freckles and fading over time.
