Although there are hundreds of kokeshi artists in Japan, not many of them can win the kokeshi competition.
This artist Sadao Kishi is also one of the prime minister award winners.
This design won the prime minister's award in 1968.
This okkapa hair kokeshi is in a Plum kimono.
Plum blossoms depict the beauty of spring in Japan.
