Creative Adorable Kokeshi Doll Japanese vintage handcraft ”Burned Cedar ”
Unfortunately, I don't know the creator of this kokeshi doll.
The body of this kokeshi doll is probably made of cedar wood.
In Japan, especially in western Japan, "Burned cedar board" has been widely used as an outer wall material for a long time.
By burning and carbonizing the surface of the cedar board, it becomes hard to rot and becomes a highly durable outer wall material.
Another characteristic of burned cedar is that it is light for its size.
