This kokeshi was made by Kazuo who won The Japanese prime minister award several times.
Since then his works became more popular and valuable.
The orange kimono depicts full moon and autumn plants.
In Japan, there is a custom of "moon viewing" where you can enjoy watching the moon on the 15th night of autumn.
Moon viewing is "Tsukimi" in Japanese.
You can see its meticulously painted body.
